We decided to display a logo on the fleet as a result of pressure by the City of Sydney to promote the car sharing service that they have supported through the provision of on-street parking (this was actually a contractual obligation). The fact that our cars were being repeatedly infringed as a result of rangers mistaking them for being illegally parked made it an easy decision.

Our first priority was to ensure that members felt comfortable driving with these logos on the cars. We scrutinized the branding of some of the world’s leading car share companies and settled on a size and style that we believe is discrete and stylish.

Our research demonstrated that the vast majority of car share members are proud to promote these sustainable services (as long as the branding is refined). This is especially true now, given the global movement away from over-consumption. And even in the midst of one of the worst economic downturns ever, companies and individuals remain concerned about the environment and want to help.

The name MyCarClub was chosen because it succinctly (and hopefully memorably) describes what the service is:

It’s a club that intelligent and progressive people join in order to have access to a car when necessary without having to own a car.

It’s a club that you can feel proud of being a part of because it saves you money whilst helping the environment and your local community. 

“My” represents the fact that each car share member is a vital part of a community that is making it possible for cities to reduce the number of cars clogging our roads and damaging the environment.

It represents the fact that individuals are taking ownership of the challenges and are doing something about them.

It also represents the fact that from the moment your booking commences, the car is yours – you have all the privacy and flexibility you would have in your own car.

Its very accessible to any person or business working on the western  side of the Sydney CBD.
